Bratislava

The most photograghed statue in Bratislava. Cumil known as "The Man at Work" or "The Watcher". Rumour has it that he is a sewer worker who is taking a rest or who is looking up the ladies skirts. He was right across the street from our apartment.
There is so much graffiti in Bratislava. It is a shame as it is on the ancient as well as newer walls.
We arrived early before our apartment was ready so we went for food. Roz has introduced me to homemade lemonade.
Around the corner from our place was a pirate candy store. So many types of candy. Even Lego bricks.
The entrance hall to our apartment. Roz done qvlgood finding this one. It is right in the heart of old town.
Beautiful staircase to the upper floors.
Hi Wes. We are on the 3rd floor.
Looking out the living room window in our apartment. There is a courtyard between us and the set of apartments on the adjacent street.
The weather was wonderful so we decided to go explore the old town after a rest. There are statues like these all over. This is Schone Naci a well dressed man who wandered the streets tipping his hat to the women.
Of course you could be like Wes and go over to get a picture with a Knights statue only to have it move on him.

City square with beautiful buildings all around.
Napoleon solider. The rumour is that when Napoleon's army came through here in 1805 a solder fell in love with a local girl and remained to become a maker of sparkling wine.
Another of Napoleon's solider on guard.
Even the tunnels between city squares are lovely.
Ed and Wes decided maybe cycling was the way to see the city. They didn't get very far.
The influence of the Hapbergs and the Hungarian/Austrian empire in the architecture.
This was a theology school and we heard this wonderful music and singing coming out of the windows.
There was mass at the Cathedral but I managed to get a quick picture.
The back of the theological school and the Cathedral.
Sculpture in the park behind the cathedral.
Gates of Old Town. Lots of people, restaurants, pubs out in the streets.
The opera house.
Lovely walk on boulevard. So many gelato shops in this city.
