Belorado to Espinosa
The Way of Openness and Curiosity

Be open to the road and keep an open heart;
Leave space for serenity and surprise;
Be present in the moment.
Castle ruins above the town of Belorado.
This just a pretty house we walked by.

Belorado has a series of murals painted throughout the town. Something like Chemanius.
The church beneath the castle ruins.

Murals depicting The Way and it's importance to Belorado.
This mural is of shoemakers who were in this building for over a century.
murals depicting the crusades.
Some buildings are missing and it is like they have spray foamed all the other walls.
There is walk of fame in Belorado. Some 30 sets of hand and foot prints of famous Spanish people as well as Martin Sheen and Emilio Estivas for the making of the movie The Way.
There is huge convent on the way out of the city.
We are getting there.
Lots of gentle ups and downs on country roads.
Cool rock cliff.
Weather vane on church steeple.
Now this church was quiet and humble.
Oh I wanted to bath my feet.
We only did 10 km and arrived before the beds were ready so we had lunch. Chicken on toasted bread with salad under it. It was delicious and set the bar for dinner that night. Oh yeah and the pepper was really hot. Should have given it to Roz.
Our Albergue La Taberna de Espinosa. Best piligrim meal we have had. A fresh tomato salad, with a ham and cheese plate, then a lovely chickpea soup, followed by cumin spiced chicken thighs and creamy pasta all with fresh sourdough bread and homemade ice cream for dessert. Needless to say we packed off a sandwich and treats for tomorrow's trek.
