Burgos to Raba de la Calzada

The Cathedral at night.

On our way out of Burgos.
Storks love to nest in high places.
We began seeing these as we came into Burgos. It looks like they were done by different artists in 2021.
This private university is in an old Seminary school. It looks like half of the building is used but the other half is either abandoned or under renovations.
Another one with the old city wall in the background.

Continuing out of Burgos.

This one commerates 1221 to 2021 of the Camino
More statues.
A knew design in the sidewalk.
A weird fountain across from a rec centre. I had to pee so bad so I went over there and got heck for not being  a customer.
Lovely boulevard to walk out of the city on but the pavement is so hard on our legs.
At last we are heading out of the city.
First town Tardajos. They take the Camino seriously
There were these signs on the corners of buildings along the Camino route through the town.

Oh and a little rain.

It is a real cute little medival town.
Of course there are the medieval crests all through the village especially the little towns that have been part of the Camino since medieval times. They reckon that a half a million pilgrims walked the Camino back in medieval times when there wasn't the infrastructure like there is today.

Lots of Terraced hills.
Swollen rivers from all the rain.
Our home away from home tonight.
Our Albergue. Lovely little place with good food.
Night time return from Vespers.

  1. Hello from Sooke, holiday was great. You two are doing amazing and the photo's are awesome. Every day is a brand new adventure so your commentary and pictures make me feel like we are tagging along. Hopefully your feet are happy with your progress. Other than that little bit of rain, looks like you have had some spectacular weather. Ken started curling yesterday and I start on Thursday. No real news. I think of you both often and appreciate this blog to keep in touch. XO
