Carrion de los Condes to Ledigos

CARRION DE LOS CONDES TO LEDIGOS
On our way out of town I saw these signs that looked blurry but on closer inspection they are in braille.
Another very cute town. A little more affluent. There are three active monasteries in Carrion de los Condes. This is the Inglais de Santiago built at the end of the 12 century around 1190.
The streets as we leave Carrion.
Monastery built on a hill.
A great sign leaving town.
We walked on a roman road for a lot of today called Via Aquitana that connected to Astorga.
Monasteries de Sa Zoilo built before 948. It has now been turned into a luxury hotel similar to the Paradors.
The sun is finally coming up.
This is one of my favourite photos. A pilgrim kneeling before Mary, Joseph and a baby Jesus.
A very old way marker.
Bull rushes in the ditches.
And our path for the day.
These cement troughs I believe are for irrigating the fields.
Nice and flat.
The branches that were torn up by the hurricane.
And more paths.
Roz on the path.
The trees that were uprooted by the hurricane.
No other pictures today. It was 25 km day. We are tired.
