Ponferrada part 2

PONFERRADA
The Templar Castle.
To us this represents the Klu Klux Klan who are white supremacists and anti-catholic.
But here in Spain these hoods are called  Capirotes. They were used in the Inquisition for public humiliation of the arrested men and women. The colours of the hoods represented their punishment. Red of course meant death. Today they are worn during Holy Week/Easter by penitents and the colour of the hoods represents different brotherhoods.
A castle draw bridge.

The outside rampart.
Keyhole shaped arrow slots.
Of course the castle is in the middle of the city.
This is a secret tunnel that lead to the river where there was a well. This allowed the castle inhabitants to have water during seiges. Jarrod said, "I would just poison the well." I guess that's why there were two big towers built on either side of it.
Cannon balls or trebuchet ammunition?
Trebuchet.
Knights Templar
Cannon. I like the counter weight and the way they changed the elevation.
Portcullis and drawbridge.
The library contains many Middle Ages and Templar original manuscripts.
And the final surprise was a Lego-like display of castles. The blocks are called Castillos.
